Montreal walk

While I am making progress on writing about our trip to Japan, I'd like to show you some of my recent photos taken during a bike ride/walk through our hometown - Montreal.

First, we go to the Jean-Talon market. We really like having lunch there. What I mean when I say "having lunch" is sampling all the food. Some fruits here, some vegetables there, some sausage and cheese over there... and when you go through the whole market, you're not so hungry anymore.

These people couldn't let go of the sausages and the seller had nobody to give change to.

"Last time I ate here, I got served a laaaarge beaver!"

It was the F1 week-end, so Saint-Laurent was closed off, and there was a little car show going on.

Every Sunday, people gather around the George-Étienne Cartier monument for tam-tams. A drum session starts in the morning and ends late in the evening when the last drummer is gone.

Many people just come to listen and relax.

Others come to talk. The poster says "Talk with a loser, it's free!"

Some come to protest

While some come to buy and sell.

Circus students prepare for final exams.

And some play out medieval battles.

On the intersection of Ontario and Papineau, there's always a lineup to get on the bridge.

Poplar seeds, which are a lot warmer than snow, fly through the city.

Place Viger, which was once an old train station is really similar to Quebec's Chateau Frontenac. This is understandable once you get to know that both buildings were designed by the same architect.

The Old Port quays are a great place to watch the sunset.

Before going home, we scouted the part of St-Catherine that is closed off for traffic. It's really nicely decorated.

Thanks for watching!
